چکیده
Objectives: This study was conducted to assess the predictive value of Shock Index-Creatinine Clearance (SI-C) for risk stratification contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) in patients after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PPCI). Methodology: 1150 consecutive STEMI and candidates PPCI presenting at our tertiary care cardiac center were included this study. Patients with significant hemodynamic instability, allergic reaction agent or having exposure within a week prior those requiring renal replacement therapy excluded from SI-C Mehran scores calculated rise post procedure serum creatinine level by 0.5 mg/dL up 25% baseline characterized as CIN. The power both SIC score assessed help receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Results: Out participants, 960 male mean age 55.64 ± 11.45 years. which 113 (9.8%) developed Area under cure (AUC) prediction CIN 0.702 [95% confidence interval (CI): 0.651 0.753] against 0.633 CI: 0.574 0.692] score. also retained its statistical significance independent predictor adjusted odds ratio 1.01 1.02] on multivariable regression Conclusion: has demonstrated strong discriminative determine setting when compared

Contrast-induced nephropathy: the sin of primary percutaneous coronary intervention?
Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) also described at acute kidney injury (AKI) is an acute renal failure occurring within the days after exposure to intravascular radiographic contrast material that is not attributable to other causes. It is the third most common cause of hospital-acquired renal failure, after decreased renal perfusion and use of nephrotoxic medications. More than 70 years afte...
متن کاملRisk scoring system to predict contrast induced nephropathy following percutaneous coronary intervention.
BACKGROUND Contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) is associated with significant morbidity and mortality after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The aim of this study is to evaluate the collective probability of CIN in Indian population by developing a scoring system of several identified risk factors in patients undergoing PCI. METHODS This is a prospective single center study of 1200 co...
متن کاملContrast-Induced Nephropathy in Patients Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
BACKGROUND Contrast media are being widely applied for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. This has resulted in increasing incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN). METHODS We aimed to investigate the value of baseline serum IL-6 concentrations in predicting CIN before the rise of serum creatinine (SCr) in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. Seventy four Cauca...
متن کاملPercutaneous coronary intervention in cardiogenic shock.
853 A myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated by cardiogenic shock (CS) has an incidence of 7-10 % of patients despite all the advances in reperfusion and antithrombotic therapy. Mortality associated with CS ranges between 45-80 %. The commonest cause of CS is primary left ventricular failure, the others being some of the mechanical complications of AMI, namely free wall rupture, papillary musc...
متن کاملShock After Successful Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention for Ventricular Fibrillation.
A 63-year-old man was admitted to our emergency department with an episode of sudden cardiopulmonary arrest attributable to ventricular fibrillation (Figure 1). Before admission, cardiopulmonary resuscitation by a bystander and emergency personnel with two 200-J direct-current shocks was conducted; thereafter, spontaneous circulation returned. The patient’s vital signs and level of consciousnes...
